Developers received a bunch of new beta software updates from Apple today that included the third beta of iOS 11.2 and macOS 10.13.3 beta 3 as well.
The new betas contain a number of bug fixes and performance improvements as Apple prepares to launch Apple Pay cash and other new additions to the public later this year.
Registered developers can download iOS 11.2 beta 3 from the Apple developer portal. It can also be installed via an over-the-air update if you have the last beta installed. macOS 10.13.3 beta 3, tvOS 11.2 beta 3 and watchOS 4.2 beta 3 are also available to download.
What’s new in iOS 11.2
The release notes for iOS 11.2 beta 3 don’t mention any major new additions. iOS 11.2 brings Apple Pay cash to the iPhone, allowing users to send money to friends via iMessage. watchOS 4.2 does bring Apple Pay Cash to the Apple Watch too.
The update also fixes the Calculator app bug that caused some computations to be incorrect. iOS 11.2 brings an option to control Apple TV content from Control Center. There’s also new live wallpapers for the iPhone X and a redesigned camera emoji.
The other three beta updates are mostly focused on bug fixes according to the release notes, but we’ll see if we find any surprises once we get them installed. If you find anything new, let us know in the comments below.
