Apple still hasn’t delivered on its promise to bring Amazon Prime Video to Apple TV — although an apparently accidental reveal on the App Store suggests that it may be on the way as early as today.

As posted yesterday by a user on Reddit, setting their iPhone time and date forward to December 6 caused Amazon Prime Video to appear in the App Store, although the “fault” has now been rectified.

Apple’s announcement read as follows:

“We love Amazon Prime. For $99 a year, we get super fast delivery (up to same-day!), a huge selection of free eBooks, and early access to major savings. Now, we can also kick back and watch some of the hottest entertainment around with Amazon Prime Video on Apple TV. The sleep service is packed with great movies, tv shows – even Thursday Night Football.”

Apple promised Amazon Prime Video on Apple TV back at WWDC in the middle of the year, although it has yet to roll out. With days running out on Apple’s “by the end of the year” promise, it seems that the app will need to launch any day now for Apple to hit its self-imposed deadline. As one of the last video streaming platforms not available for Apple TV, this would certainly be a gratefully received early holiday gift!
